3 Do Nots in Affiliate Marketing

Many people makes these three common mistakes in affiliate marketing;
1) By Over Doing: All affiliate marketers want to sell their product with aggressive sale methods. However, this would put the visitors off the product rather than buying the product. Most buyers would like to learn more about the product they are purchasing. They would like to see some reviews and some detailed information about the product.
2) By Not Providing Previews, Samples, or Free trials: You have to be confident about the product you are selling. Many sellers expects the buyer to buy the product by reading the information provided on the website. But many, would like to try or preview before purchase.
3) Affiliate Link Dumps: Affiliate marketing is not about dumbing lots of links on a web page. You would have no sale at all by just pasting a link on your site. You have to talk about it, you have explain its features, you have explain what would they gain by purchasing that product.

Promoting Affiliate Links With Landing Pages

In affiliate marketing, landing pages allow you to promote your products more effectively. Whatever product you promote you need to have a specific landing page for each product. Landing pages don't have to be like normal websites. They can be one or two pages that allows you to promote whatever you are trying to sell.

Advantages of Landing Pages

Landing pages can be optimised for a specific keyword or key phrase to drive traffic from search engines. You can be able to present your products' features through these landing pages. Also each of your landing pages will have their own URL. You can promote these pages by submitting to directories, exchanging links or for PPC campaigns. Also you need to know that URL of your landing page has to include your keyword. This would help a lot in optimisation. It doesn't really matter if this URL is long or not. Because you will use it to drive traffic from search engines.

Types of Landing Pages

There are 2 types of landing pages. These are reference landings and transactional landings;

Reference landing pages are product review pages. You review the product you are trying to sell and present the findings of these reviews to the visitors. Of course, you have to point out the good feature of the product rather then focusing on the bad features. You need to do this in honest way. So if he product you selling has more bad feature than good, then you must choose better product to sell or promote.

Transactional landing pages take visitor straight in to a page, where they start engaging with the product you are trying to sell. Online booking form of an airline company or loan application form can be a good example for transactional landing pages. As soon as user enters the page, they have to start interacting by filling forms.

Finally, you can choose products to promote from various affiliate networks. There are lots affiliate networks available over the WWW. Each has different types of products. Personally, I use Commission Junction. They have products of well known companies as well as other small companies with unique product range.
